Costco La Terra Fina Quiche Cooking Instructions

Jump to Recipe Jump to Audio Print Recipe

Want to keep your lazy weekend breakfast, well, lazy? The two pack of Costco quiche takes the work out of prep so we can just toss them in the oven until golden and delicious.

Whether you're looking for an easy Sunday brunch food or a breakfast for dinner option that is extra low fuss, the refrigerator section La Terra Fina quiche has you covered. I get these at Costco in a 2-pack with two different flavors: cheddar broccoli and goat cheese with spinach. I have seen single packs sold at other grocery stores, but if you enjoy both types of quiche they're more cost effective to purchase at Costco.

Why You'll Love This Delicious Quiche:

  • Convenient- While preparing a homemade quiche isn't hard, it certainly takes longer than unwrapping one of these.
  • Fresh- With no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, this is about as close to homemade as I've found in terms of packaged food.
  • Great Tasting- Some prepared foods are pretty disappointing when you taste them, but these are quite good with a buttery pie crust and generous amount of cheese.

Let's Get Started! Here's What You'll Need:

A La Terra Fina 2-pack of quiche from Costco sitting on a kitchen counter.

Ingredients:

All we need is the La Terra Fina Quiche 2-pack. I'm making both here, but they're wrapped individually in plastic once you open them, so you can opt just to make one at a time. If you want the nitty gritty of what La Terra Fina puts in these, I have a photo of the nutritional information in the FAQs below the cooking instructions.

Equipment:

Technically you don't need anything but oven mitts for getting this out, a cooling rack for it to rest on, and a knife to cut it for serving. That said, I don't find the foil pans they come in to be super sturdy and am more comfortable placing them on an aluminum baking sheet. Also, if you want to use your air fryer I recommend covering the quiche with aluminum foil for most of the cook time to avoid the quiche drying out.

How to Cook Costco Quiche In A Conventional Oven:

Step 1: Preheat & Preparation

Time to prep! I'm using the term "prep" pretty loosely, because what I mean is preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and remove the plastic packaging. Discard the peelable plastic liner I'm removing below, but the black tray and clear lid are pretty handy for cookies at the holidays and such if you're inclined to hold onto it.

Step 2: Baking

Place the quiche or quiches on a baking tray and put it in the oven. Bake 25-28 minutes, until the crust is golden brown. If you're not sure you can also test the internal temperature at center of the quiche with an instant read thermometer- it should read 165 degrees F or higher.

Step 3: Cool, Slice & Serve

Let the quiche cool for about 5 minutes on a wire rack, then slice and enjoy!

How to Cook Costco Quiche In An Air Fryer or Convection Oven:

Step 1: Preheat & Preparation

For the air fryer, we want to use a slightly lower temperature of 350 degrees F. Just like with the regular oven remove all plastic packaging, but also cover the quiche tightly with aluminum foil. Ensure it is tightly wrapped so that the aluminum foil can not fly around in your air fryer- foil should never touch the heating element.

Step 2: Baking

Place the quiche or quiches in the air fryer. For a basket style place the whole thing inside, for a toaster oven style you can still place it on a baking tray. Bake 15 minutes, then pause the cooking to remove the foil. Cook another 3-6 minutes until the crust is golden brown.

Step 3: Cool, Slice & Serve

After cooking remove the quiche from the air fryer and give it about 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

How to Cook Costco Quiche In The Microwave:

While not the preferred method, if you need to eat in a hurry you can cut a serving size (⅕ of the quiche) out of the foil tray and place it on a microwave safe plate. Cook on high for 2 minutes, until the center of the quiche reaches 165 F. Do not microwave in the foil tray.

How to Reheat Costco Quiche

Be sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. You could also place cling wrap or press n seal over the trays after they've cooled. Once cooked, you can enjoy the quiche cold, or reheat it.

To reheat in a conventional oven, preheat your oven to 350. Place slices of quiche directly on a baking sheet and warm in the oven for 5-8 minutes. An air fryer or convection oven will be 3-6 minutes, and with the shorter time there's no need for foil. You can also reheat in the microwave in 30 second bursts until the quiche is warm enough for your liking.

Cooking Frozen Quiche

This quiche is sold in the refrigerated section, but if you're not going to cook it by the best by date on the package you can freeze it instead. To cook from frozen add 10 minutes for your conventional oven or 7 minutes for your air fryer.

Foods to Serve with Quiche

Quiche is a great main course any time of day, but you may want some sides. My favorites are a simple green salad or keeping with the Costco theme, their frozen French onion soup. Vegetables, breads, and fruit are other great choices, and if you need ideas I have a list of over 50 sides that pair well with savory quiche.

FAQ

Does the quiche need to come to room temperature before baking?

No. You can have it set out while actively preheating the oven to unwrap it and get it ready to cook, but it shouldn't be left out for long before baking.

What happened to the spinach & artichoke quiche?

It was replaced, though the same size should need the same cook time if your store has that one. The two flavors now are Aged Gruyere & Chevre (which contains spinach but not artichokes) and Sharp Cheddar & Broccoli Florets.

Is this the same as the Costco Mini quiche?

Nope, the mini quiches at Costco are frozen and appetizer size. Those actually have a lower cooking time since they're so small, despite being frozen.

What ingredients are in the Costco quiche?

Per the back of the box, the spinach quiche contains: egg whites, whole milk, enriched wheat flour, spinach, goat cheese, gruyere cheese, palm oil, water, onions, canola oil, corn starch, sea salt, cane sugar, butter, isolated oat fiber, black pepper, parsley, dill weed, rosemary, and dried thyme. The broccoli cheddar quiche contains: egg whites, whole milk, enriched wheat flour, sharp cheddar cheese, broccoli, palm oil, water, onions, canola oil, sea salt, corn starch, dehydrated garlic, cane sugar, butter, isolated oat fiber, white pepper, nutmeg, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Enjoy!

Whether you have this for a relaxed weekend breakfast or busy day breakfast for dinner, I hope you love it! If you found these instuctions helpful be sure to leave a star review.
