Baking aisle: All purpose flour (3 cups, spooned and leveled), Molasses (6 oz), Brown sugar (½ cup, packed), Granulated sugar (½ cup), Lard* (¼ pound), Baking soda (1 tbsp)
Spices: Ground ginger (1.5 tbsp), Ground cinnamon (1 tbsp)
Plus: Room temperature water (¼ cup)
*This is usually sold in a one pound brick near oils and sprays.
