This episode features a recipe developed by Lauren LeBlanc from Lauren From Scratch.
Lauren is a Louisiana native, so when it comes to cajun flavor, she knows how to make it- but for those of us with kids (or our own) low heat tolerance, her cajun blackened shrimp is light on heat without being light on flavor. Anne talks through how to make this quick protein along with a few great ways to easily use it in a full meal like sandwiches or salads.
The full printable recipe is linked above, but if you're making your grocery list here's what you'll need:
- Seafood: 1 pound shrimp (for ease, buy them already peeled and deveined)
- Dairy: Butter (about 2 tbsp)
- Seasonings: Paprika (1 tsp), Salt (½ tsp), Oregano (½ tsp), Onion Powder (¼ tsp), Pepper (¼ tsp), Ground Thyme (¼ tsp)
If you're listening to this when it first airs, happy Mardi Gras! Should you want to make a King Cake for Fat Tuesday, Lauren has a great recipe for that as well.
