Spiced Slow Cooker Chex Mix Recipe

This Chex-only mix of corn, wheat, and rice cereal gives the traditional recipe a light kick of cayenne and heats in the slow cooker for an easy and tasty snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Wheat Chex
  • 3 cups Corn Chex
  • 3 cups Rice Chex
  • 6 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in either a microwave or the slow cooker. To the melted butter, add all seasoning ingredients (Worcestershire, seasoned salt, garlic and onion powder, and cayenne) and stir until well combined.
  • Add all three Chex cereals to the butter and seasoning mixture in the slow cooker. Stir immediately and until evenly coated.
  • Place the lid on the cooker and cook on LOW for 1-2 hours, stirring every 30-60 minutes. Remove lid and cook an additional 30-60 minutes, stirring at least once.

For additional heat, increase cayenne pepper or add tabasco sauce to the seasoning.
