Slow Cooker Ham, Green Bean, and Potato Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ham leftover spiral or ham steaks
  • 12 oz green beans fresh or frozen preferred
  • 24 oz red potatoes
  • 1 ea large onion
  • 6 cups water or chicken stock
  • 1 ea ham bone or ham hock
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • If you have a leftover ham bone or ham hocks, add that and water to the bottom of your slow cooker. Otherwise, substitute a broth or stock.
  • Dice ham, onion, and potatoes into bite size pieces. Add them to the crock pot.
  • If using fresh green beans, trim and cut them to bite sized. Add green beans and seasonings on top of the other ingredients in the slow cooker.
  • Cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.

Notes

If using canned green beans, drain first and wait to add until about an hour before eating.
If a ham bone or ham hocks are not available to you, use broth instead of water.
